Websites I Recommend

There are some wonderful websites for those of us who love books and enjoy discussing them, way too many to mention. Here are a few of my favorites.

  1. Bernard Cornwell’s blog is just as much fun as his books, which is high praise indeed. http://www.bernardcornwell.net/
  2. David Rosenfelt, author of the Andy Carpenter mysteries, a series I really enjoy.  Like me, David loves dogs and he is a very funny author. See for yourself at http://www.davidrosenfelt.com/
  3. Like half the planet, I was addicted to Game of Thrones, so how could I not include George R.R. Martin’s website?   https://www.georgerrmartin.com/
  4. www.readingbooks-4fun.com This is an Australian website which deserves to be on the list and not just because my books have been featured there!
  5. www.historicalfictiononline.com A dangerous site, for you can spend hours here without even realizing how much time has passed.
  6. www.historicalnovelsociety.org  For readers and writers of historical fiction, this is your spiritual home.  If you love history and you love books, you’re probably already a member; if not, you ought to be.
  7. This is one of my favorite places to spend time.  http://www.goodreads.com

For those who want to embark upon serious research about the MA, I’d recommend starting with these websites.

The Labyrinth: Resources for Medieval Studies, labyrinth.georgetown.edu

The Foundation For Medieval Genealogy, in particular their project, Medieval Lands, which offers invaluable information about the family trees of those who wielded power in the Middle Ages.  This is an amazing site. https://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/index.htm

Animal Rescue groups
http://www.echodogs.org/dogs.htm This is the group that rescued my white shepherd, Tristan. If you want to adopt one of these beautiful dogs, check out their website; they adopt out-of-state.

https://bestfriends.org/   This sanctuary in Utah has done so much to revolutionize how rescue groups operate and what their aims should be;  they deserve a lot of the credit for the spread of no-kill shelters.

https://www.animalleague.org/  The North Shore Animal League is another admirable animal rescue group that works tirelessly to rescue, nurture, adopt, and educate.

http://www.lastchanceranch.org/ They began by rescuing horses and then branched out to include all animals in need.  I adopted my spaniel, Holly from them.

http://www.bcaaofnj.org/  Another rescue group; I adopted my German shepherd, Shadow, from them.
